An End to Tooth Pain
Tooth Extraction
When no other treatment option is viable, tooth extraction may become necessary to alleviate pain and prevent further complications. A comprehensive evaluation of medical history prior to tooth extraction is critical in minimizing the risk of postoperative complications. By reviewing your health background, medications, and specific conditions, we can identify potential issues that may affect the extraction process or healing. This detailed evaluation helps create a personalized care plan, ensuring a safer experience and better recovery.
After a tooth extraction, the bone around the area may weaken, causing problems like bone loss, changes in facial shape, or challenges with future dental work. A bone graft can be performed to preserve the surrounding bone socket. This procedure not only aids in the healing process but also creates a stable foundation that can be utilized for future dental implant placement, ensuring optimal aesthetic and functional results. By using a bone graft, patients increase their chances of successful results in later dental treatments.

Post-Operative Care Instructions After Tooth Extraction
Bite on Gauze: After your extraction, bite down on gauze for 30 to 45 minutes to help form a blood clot.
Avoid Rinsing or Spitting: Do not rinse your mouth for the first 24 hours, as this can dislodge the blood clot. After dental work. Avoid spitting when rinsing your mouth. Let the water flow gently into the sink instead.
Pain Management: Take pain medications as prescribed. Over-the-counter options like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can also help.
Ice Pack Application: Apply an ice pack to your cheek for 15 to 20 minutes to reduce swelling. Repeat as needed in the first 24 hours.
Dietary Restrictions: Eat soft foods for the first few days. Avoid hot, spicy, or crunchy foods and straws to prevent irritation.
Oral Hygiene: After 24 hours, rinse gently with saltwater (1 teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water) several times a day. Brush your teeth, but avoid the extraction area for a few days.
